About Us

Knebl Micro Works (KMW) is a Warhammer 40k hobby business set up to provide entertainment for our viewers and ourselves. And if we can make a “wee bit ’o coin” while having some fun then that would be grand.

We are made up of a few folks who love the hobby and will have fun growing this website. The chief operator of KMW has been building war-gaming terrain for over 30 years, has played 40k socially and competitively all over Canada. He has worked extensively within the business (including being trained in retail by Games Workshop). Additionally, he has had the great fortune of earning two Warhammer 40k Canadian Grand Champion titles.

Our website is set up as a storyboard for what is hoped to be a long-running saga about two Warhammer 40k characters. Each segment will be built around a sophisticated piece of terrain that our protagonists have to interact with during their adventures.

Bringing terrain to life is fun for us. Each story piece that is built will have at least 3 of the following characteristics:

While our terrain engineer is a “better than average” painter, our “how-to” videos will not usually cover painting as there are tons of those that would be much better than anything KMW can produce. Any instructional guides that we produce will focus on making terrain and bringing it to life based on the characteristics mentioned above. We have called these animated terrain pieces #whammertronics, #animatedterrain and/or #functioningterrain.

As our heroes go through their trials and tribulations, we will publish a variety of content that talks about our heroes and their adventures and/or how to build “kick-ass” terrain for use in your own battles.

You can see a wee-bio of our main terrain guy here: YouTube bio video.

Let us know what you would like to see brought to life!
